Youth Programs
Why should you choose Eclectic Karate for you child? All of our classes are controlled by belt color and age. We have a special program for ages 3-5 and all the kids like the Juniors program. We place emphasis on a family atmosphere and “have a no judgement rule,” while encouraging respect. Karate at a young age teaches the child the importance of physical activity while improving coordination and balance as well as strength and dexterity. Our programs teach patience, responsibility, self-control and balance of mind and body.
Pre-School Programs
Pre-School (ages 3-5): Instruction at this age teaches the child the importance of physical activity, improves coordination
and balance as well as strength and dexterity. Discipline and focus are milestones for toddlers that will enhance their
success throughout life. According to Lawrence Kutner, Ph. D, a clinical psychologist, Harvard medical professor, and
the author of five books on child development, “Five of the greatest challenges faced by kids in school: patience, self-reliance,
responsibility, bonding, and self-control.”
All of which are developed in our pre-school and juniors programs. The day’s lessons will often include, non-karate emergency situations, talking to strangers, important phone numbers, etc.

Junior Program
Juniors (ages 6-13): In addition to the foundation taught at the pre-school age juniors are more often exposed to a
myriad of peer group social confrontations. Social class or “cliques”, peer pressure, and bullies just to name a few.
Instruction in Eclectic Karate® builds a mental as well as physical strength that provides teens and pre-teens the self-confidence
and conviction needed to do the right thing in those situations. Their martial arts training is expanded to more practical applications
as they often face more situations. Juniors are taught to recognize and avoid situations before they occur and to use their
martial arts training only if they absolutely need to.

Belts and Rank
Each new student in our program starts as a white belt. Each student needs to purchase on a Gi - pronounced (gee) proper shoes and a white belt.
Youth or Adults all start at a white belt while learning “Hand One,” a series of choreographed steps, arm and hand movements and body balance.
