Professor George Cobbett has studied martial arts for over 20 years. A direct student of Founder Curtin, Prof. George has given as much as he’s received in Eclectic Karate®. The latter half of his years of training, he’s been teaching a program out of the Attleboro YMCA Pleasant Street branch. His students look to him for guidance, his extensive self-defense knowledge, and his humor. Prof. George continues to seek knowledge in martial arts, and he’s always quick to share with his students. He is an asset to the world of martial arts.
Sensei Cathy Cobbett-Walden received her black belt from Founder Curtin when she was 16 years old. After a hiatus, she returned to training to help Prof. George with his YMCA Eclectic Karate® Program. Assisting her father whilst continuing black belt training, Sensei Cathy went on to earn her second, then third-degree, black belts. When the opportunity arose, Sensei Cathy left her corporate job to fulfill her lifelong dream of owning a dojo. Through hard work and perseverance, Sensei Cathy hopes to instill an attitude of never giving up in her students.
John Cobbett-Walden is currently a brown belt in Eclectic Karate®. He assists Sensei Cathy in teaching classes, maintenance, and all things dojo. During the day he teaches middle school math at The Sage School in Foxboro, and is also the Dean of Students there. With a passion for teaching as well as karate, John is truly an asset to Eclectic Karate® Easton.
